Getting a Job - Changing Career

If you’re feeling frustrated in your present job or recruitment agency assignment, or simply want to learn new skills or try something a bit different it might be time to consider a career change.

Where once changing your career might have seemed like a big risk, today more and more people are choosing to try something different.
This is particularly true for women who sometimes want to take on a different job after having a baby or those who have returned to college or university to gain other skills to pursue graduate jobs. It can happen any time in your adult life and it’s a very brave decision to make but many of those who have decided to change their careers gain far more job satisfaction than ever before as they’re doing something they’ve always wanted to do.

If you’re thinking of not just changing your job but changing your career the first thing that you should ask yourself is why?

What is the motivation behind this decision? Perhaps you have family commitments that mean you want to work different hours or maybe you’ve developed new skills in your current job or a weekend hobby and want to use them in your new working life.

There’s never been a better time for mature people to choose a different career path. Think about those jobs that are most in demand such as work in the IT industry, teaching or nursing. You can even be paid to return for some careers.

So, if you’ve always wanted a job in teaching, a job in nursing or a job in finance, now could be the perfect time to fulfil ambition.
